WHAT IS DIRECT SERVICES?
WCFS Direct Services department provides
frontline support (Direct Service Workers)
for private and government organizations
that provide residential care and treatment,
to support individuals who are in need
of specialized services.
WHO ARE THE DIRECT
SERVICE WORKERS?
WCFS Direct Service Workers are professionals
who have gained extensive years of experience
and are formally trained Child & Youth
Counselors, Social Workers, Human Service
Counselors, and Development Service Workers.
All Direct Service Workers are screened
and must meet the following criteria prior
to affiliation with the WCFS Direct Services
Team of Professionals:
- College/University
Certification
- Rigorous Interview & Screening
Process
- Reference Check (1
personal, and 2 professional)
- Ministry Approved
Crisis Management Certification
- Professional Liability
Insurance
- Active in Professional
Development
- Vulnerable Person
and CPIC Screened Through Backcheck
WHAT SERVICES ARE
PROVIDED BY THE DIRECT SERVICES DEPARTMENT?
- 1-1 Support in Community
and in Residential Care
- Long Term Sick Leave,
and/or Parental Leave
- Long Term Direct Service
- Development and Implementation
of Specialized Programs
- Emergency Direct Services
(8 hours or less prior notice to the
start of a particular shift)
- Casual Direct Services
(More than 8 hours notice prior to the
start of a particular shift)
- WCFS Newcomers Services
