CRISIS SUPPORT PROGRAM

What Is A Crisis & Its Outcomes

At WCFS we define a crisis as an uncertain and transitional moment in individuals' life due to internal and external factors. If these factors and transitional moments are not identified the individual will experience physical and/or emotional harm.

Crisis Support Program

The WCFS Crisis Support Program is a system that is designed to support the efficient operation of a Multi-disciplinary team which is responsible for caring for vulnerable and marginalized young people in need of specialized services. This support program has been developed as a result of years of practical experience within the Children & Youth Services Sector. The WCFS Crisis Support Program is available for educational milieus.

How Does Your Team Benefit?

It is evident that when teachers are working with a student in need who experiences a state of crisis, they are also at risk of experiencing the same if they are not formally trained to manage it. The results of the teachers going into a state of crisis may be extremely tragic. A crisis may displace a teacher from an existing classroom when the students need them the most. This situation occurs when sufficient support systems are not in place and teachers/educational assistants need to move to a location or setting which requires their support. At WCFS we considered this dilemma and others like it when we developed the Crisis Support Program. This program along with other external factors provides a healthy and intact environment for your boards’ faculty to meet the students’ academic needs.
